Mean length of 6 rods = 44.2cm

Mean = (Sumof observations)/(number of observations)

Mean length of 6 rods = Sum of 6 rods length/6

44.2 = Sum of 6 rods length/6

Multiple to each side  by 6.

265.2 = Sum of 6 rods length

Mean length of 5 rods = 47cm

Similarly Mean length of 5 rods = Sum of 5 rods length/5

47 = Sum of 5 rods length/5

Multiple to each side  by 5.

235 = Sum of 5 rods length

Sixth  rod length = Sum of 6 rods length - Sum of 5 rods length

265.2-235 = 30.2 cm
