Substitution method :

The equations are

5x  + 2y = 7   ---------> (1)

7x + 3y = 10  ---------> (2)

Solve for x from (2)

7x = 10 - 3y

x = (10 - 3y)/7   ---------> (3)

Substitute x value in (1).

5[(10 - 3y)/7]  + 2y = 7

(50 - 15y + 14y)/7 = 7

(50 - y) = 49

y = 50 - 49 = 1

y = 1.

Substitute y value in (3).

x = (10 - 3(1))/7 = 7/7 = 1

x = 1.

Solution of the system is x = 1 and y = 1.
