The equation is log (3 -x ) = 4.

Apply exponential formula: log base e (x ) = a x = e a.

3 - x = e 4

- x = e 4 - 3

x = 3 - e 4

Substitute the value e 4 = 54.59 .

x = 3 - 54.59

x = - 51.59 .

Solution of the equation is x = - 51.59 .
