how do i write y + 3 = -1/2(x + 6) in standard form

0 votes

y + 3 = 1/2(x + 6)

y - 4 = -2/3(x - 5)

y + 2 = 4/3(x - 6)

y - 1 = 1.5(x + 3)

y + 6 + -3.8(x - 2)

Standard  from of an equation is ax + by + c = 0

1) y + 3 = 1/2(x + 6)

Cross multiplication.

2y + 6 = x + 6

x - 2y  = 0.

2) y - 4 = -2/3(x - 5)

Cross multiplication.

3y - 12 = -2x + 10

2x + 3y - 22 = 0.

3) y + 2 = 4/3(x - 6)

Cross multiplication.

3y + 6 = 4x - 24

4x - 3y - 30 = 0.

4) y - 1 = 1.5(x + 3)

y -1 = 1.5x + 4.5

1.5x - y + 5.5 = 0.

5) y + 6 = -3.8(x - 2)

y + 6 = -3.8x + 7.6

3.8x + y  - 1.6 = 0.

And the another equation in the question: y + 3 = -1/2(x + 6)

Cross multiplication.

2y + 6 = - x - 6

x + 2y + 12 = 0
