We can calculate prime factorization of 72 as below.

72/2=36

36/2 = 18

18/2 = 9

9/3 = 3

3/3 = 1

Answer= 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

Here 2's are 3 so it is equal to 23

Here 3's are 2 so it is equal to 32

There fore, the prime factorization of 72 is 23 × 32
