Given

Length of the solenoid , l =  4.6 cm = 0.046 m

Number of turns, N = 535 turns

permeability μ= 4π×10-7 T/A-m

Inductance I = 43 µH

                     = 43×10-6 H

Calculate the cross-sectional area by using the indutance formula:

L = N2 µ A / l

43×10-6= 5352 (4π×10-7) A / 0.046

A=5.5×10-4 cm 2
