x + 7y = -21

Divide each side by -21

x/-21 + 7y/-21 = -21/-21

x/-21 + y/-3 = 1

x-intercept =-21

y-intercept=-3

The intercept form of a line equation is x/a + y/b = 1, where, a is x - intercept,  and b is y - intercept.

The equation is x + 7y = - 21.

Write the equation in intercept - form.

x/(- 21) + 7y/(- 21) = 1

x/(- 21) + y/(- 21/7) = 1

x/(- 21) + y/(- 3) = 1.

Compare the above equation with, intercept form of a line equation.

x - intercept is - 21, and y - intercept is - 3.
