Given that required equation of line is perpendicular to 2x + y = 6

y = -2x + 6

Here slope m1 = -2

Perpendicular slope m2 = -1/(m1)

Required slope = -1/(-2) = 1/2

Given that required equation of line is passing through point is (7 , 9)

Substitute in y = mx + c

9 = (1/2) (7) + c

9= (7 + 2c)/2

18 = 7 + 2c

2c = 18 - 7

c = 11/2

Here m = 1/2 and c = 11/2

Therefore the required equation of line is y = (1/2) x + 11/2.
