Given that required equation of line is parallel to y = -3x - 4

It is in the form of slope intercept form of line y = mx + c

Here slope m = -3

Given that line is passing through point (6 , -1)

Subtitute in y = mx + c

-1 = (-3) ( 6) + c

-1 = -18 + c

c = 18 - 1

c = 17

Here m = -3 and c =17

Therefore the required equation of line is y = -3x + 17
