Slope of the first line passing through (0,5) and (-1,8) say m1 = y2-y1/x2-x1

(x1, y1) = (0,5)

(x2,y2) = (-1, 8)

m1 = 8-5/-1-0

m1 = 3/-1

m1 = -1/3

Slope of the second line through (3,3) and (5,-1) say m2 = y2-y1/x2-x1

m2 = -1-3/5-3

m2 = -4/2

m2 = -2

The lines have unequal slopes.

Option a is correct answer.

m = -13

Given that two points are

Slope of a line containing two points is

m = -2

Therefore the slopes are not equal so the lines are not parallel to each other (option a).
