Say the points (x1,y1) = (-3,-4)

(x2,y2) = (-9,-5)

Now find out the slope say m.

m = y2-y1/x2-x1

m =-5-(-4)/-9-(-3)

m = -1/-6

m = 1/6

And equation to line is y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y-(-4) = 1/6(x-(-3))

y+4 = 1/6(x+3)

Subtract 4 from each side.

y+4-4 = x/6+1/2-4

y = (1/6)x-7/2

y = (1/6)x-7/2

Slope intecept form of (-3,-4)(-9,-5) is y = (1/6)x-7/2.

  • Point - slope - form of a line equation is y - y₁ = m(x - x₁).
  • Slope - intercept - form of a line equation is y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y - intercept.
