Say the points (x1,y1) = (0,-7)

(x2,y2) = (2,-8)

m = (-8+7)/(2-0)

m = -1/2

Line equation is y+7 = -1/2(x-0)

y+7 = (-1/2)x

Subtract 7 from each side.

y+7-7 = (-1/2)x-7

y = (-1/2)x-7
