Elimination method

2x-y = 32 -------> (1)

-5x+y = 13 ---------> (2)

To eliminate the y value add the equations (1) and(2).

2x-y = 32

-5x+y = 13

__________

-3x = 45

Divide to each side by negitive 3.

-3x/-3 = 45/-3

x = -15

Substitute the value of x in (1).

2*-15-y = 32

-30-y = 32

Add 30 to each side.

-30+30-y = 32+30

-y =62

Multiple to each side by negitive one.

y = - 62

Solution is x =-15, y = -62.
