Given line equation x-3y = 6

Subtract x from each side.

x-x-3y = 6-x

-3y = -x+6

Divide to each side by negitive 3.

-3y/-3 = (-x+6)/-3

y = (1/3)x-2

Compare it to slope intercept form y = mx+b.

Slope m = 1/3 and y intercept is -2.

Slope - intercept form line equation is y = mx + b where m is slope and b is y-intercept.

The line equation is x - 3y = 6

Move x variable to right hand side by subtract x from each side

-3y = -x + 6

Divide the equation by negative 3 to write the equation in slope intercept form

y = x/3 + 2
