Ratios and Proportions help?

Writing Assignment: Converting a Recipe

In this assignment, you will be using a recipe of your choosing and using ratios to convert the recipe to make enough for 50 people.

Step 1: Choose a recipe that has at least 4 ingredients.
Step 2: List all the ingredients and the amount of each ingredient in the recipe.  Also list the number of servings it makes.  You do not need to list the directions, only the ingredients.

Step 3: Choose at least four of the ingredients to convert.  For each ingredient, set up a proportion that will find the amount needed of that ingredient to make a recipe for 50 servings.  Showing all work, find the amount of each of the four ingredients you chose.

Step 1:

Choose a recipe that has atleast 4 ingredients.

Consider the ingredients required to make cookies.

cups of all-purpose flour.

teaspoon of baking soda.

stick of unsalted butter.

cup of dark brown sugar.

Large eggs.

teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.

teaspoon of fine salt.

Assume this makes 20 servings of cookies.

Step 2:

Find the amount of ingredient required for 50 servings.

Set up a proportion for each ingredient.

Consider cups of all-purpose flour.

5.625 cups of all-purpose flour.

Consider teaspoon of baking soda.

1.875 teaspoon of baking soda.

Consider sticks of unsalted butter.

1.25 sticks of unsalted butter.

Consider cup of dark brown sugar.

1.875 cup of dark brown sugar.

Consider Large eggs.

5 Large eggs.

Consider teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.

2.5 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.

Consider teaspoon of salt.

1.25 sticks of unsalted butter.

1.875 cup of dark brown sugar.

5 Large eggs.
