Quadratic Formula with complex solution question?

0 votes

Solve 3x^2 - 2x + 4 = 0 using the quadratic formula. I don't know why but I keep on getting the wrong answer here, even though the quadratic formula is relatively simple. The correct answer is

x = ( 1 +- i * sqrt(11)) / 3

I keep on getting:

x = (1 +- 2 * sqrt 2) / 3

Can someone show me how to solve this correctly?
