Given equation 10v^2+8v-1 = 0

Compare it to quadratic equation ax^2+bx+c = 0

Then the roots are [-b±√[b^2-4ac]]/2a

a =10, b = 8, c = -1

Roots are v = [-8±√(64+40)]/20

v = [-8±√104]/20

v = [-8±10.19]/20

v = (-8+10.19)/20 and v = (-8-10.19)/20

v = 2.19/20 and v = -18.19/20

Solution v = 0.1095 and v = -0.9095
