Calculate the surface area of the cylinder by using formula : SA = 2πr(h + r), where r = radius and h = height.

r = Diameter / 2 = (4 ft) / 2 = 2 ft and h = 9 ft.

SA = 2π(2) * (9 + 2)

SA = 4π * (11)

SA = 44π ft2.

The surface area of the cylinder is 44π ft2.
