Find the sum of the vectors.

<5 , -2> +< 0, 0>

=<5 + 0, -2 + 0>

= <5, -2>

So option D is correct.

Dot product:

v = (1 , 6), u = (-5 , - 2)

v ∙ u = <v1, v2> ∙ <u1, u2> = v1u1 + v2u2

v∙u = 1 * - 5 + 6 * -2  = -5 -12 = -17

The answer is D.
