The equation x - y = w

Add y to each side.

x - y + y = y + w

x + 0 = y + w

Apply additive identity property a + 0 = a.

Solution x = y + w.

The equation x + 3y = 5v

Subtract 3y from each side.

x + 3y - 3y = 5v - 3y

x + 0 = 5v - 3y

Solution x = 5v - 3y.

The equation x - v2 = w2

Add v2 to each side.

x - v2 +  v2 = w2 + v2

x + 0 = w2 + v2

Solution x = w2 + v2.

The equation 3v + x = w

Subtract 3v from each side.

3v - 3v + x = w - 3v

0 + x = w - 3v

Solution x = w - 3v.

The equation x2 + v2 = w

Subtract v2 from each side.

x2 = w - v2

Apply square root on each side.

√x2 = ± √(w - v2)

x = ± √(w - v2)

Solution is x = ± √(w - v2).

The equation x2/6 = w + y

Multiply each side by 6.

(x2/6)6 = 6(w + y)

x2 = 6(w + y)

Apply square root on each side.

Solution x = ± √[6(w + y)].

 The equation (x2 + 9)/w = y

Multiply each side by w.

[(x2 + 9)/w]w = wy

x2 + 9 = wy

Subtract 9 from each side.

x2 + 9 - 9= wy - 9

x2 + 0 = wy - 9

Apply additive identity property a + 0 = a.

x2 = wy - 9

Apply square root on each side.

x = ± √(wy - 9).

The equation x/(y + 8) = v

Multiply each side by y + 8.

[x/(y + 8)](y + 8) = v(y + 8)

x  = vy + 8v

Solution x = vy + 8v.

The equation v/2x = w/y

Cross multiplication.

v(y) = w(2x)

vy = 2xw

Divide each side by 2w.

vy/2w = 2xw/2w

Solution x = vy/2w.
