A wheelchair ramp has a slope of 1/10. If its rise is 5 1/2 feet, what is its run?

slope = rise / run

run = rise / slope

substitute the known values: 

slope = 1/10 = 0.1 

rise = 5 1/2 ft. = 11/2 ft. = 66 in

run = 66 in / 0.1

run = 660 in = 55 ft.
