The equation of line is - 3x + 4y = 5 and y - intercept (b ) is 2

Rewrite the equation - 3x + 4y = 5 in the slope - intercept form : y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is y - intercept.

- 3x + 4y = 5

4y  = 5 + 3x

y  = (3/4)x + (5/4).

Therefore slope of given line is 3/4.

Because the slopes of perpendicular lines are negative reciprocals, the slope of perpendicular line is - 4/3.

Substitute the values of m = - 4/3 and b = 2 in the slope - intercept form of equation

y = mx + by = (- 4/3)x + 2.

The equation of perpendicular line is y = (- 4/3)x + 2.
