Slope intercept form of a line y = mx+b.

Here m  is slope. y inercept is b.

Given line equation x-3 = 9

Subtract x from each side.

x-x-3y = 9-x

-3y = 9-x

Divide to each side by negitive 3.

-3y/-3 = 9/-3-x/-3

y = -3+x/3

y = (1/3)x-3

Slope of the given line = 1/3

We know that parallel lines have equal slope.

Slope of the line parallel to x-3y = 9 is 1/3.
