Given

The area of the rectangle is 50 feet squared.

The length of a rectangle is twice the width.

Let the width of a rectangle is x .

So the length of a rectangle is 2 x.

The area of the rectangle = length * width.

50 =  2 x  * x

50=  2 x ^2

50 / 2 = x ^2

25 = x ^2

⇒  x ^2 =  25

⇒  x  = √25

⇒  x  =  ± 5

Measurents is always positive.

So the width of a rectangle is 5 feets

Therefore the length of a rectangle is 2 x

 = 2 (5) =10 feets

Solution :   The length of a rectangle is 10 feets and

the width of a rectangle is 5 feets.
